Hen: Checking out the facilities at new Las Iguanas

With Rio 2016 halfway through and the end of our summer in sight, it was a welcome surprise to be offered a night in Latin America. Ok, so it wasn’t a trip abroad, but an evening with Mr Robertson at the brand new Las Iguanas restaurant, in Braintree, Essex.

Vow renewal: Truly I Do Charlie ties the knot…again!

It was a total honour to be a guest at my old school pal Charlie’s vow renewal recently. Myself, Mr Robertson and our girls got all dolled up to watch on as Mr and Mrs Smith – and their three children – stood in front of us all and made promises to love and care for each other for ever more. There wasn’t a dry eye in the place!

For those of you who know Charlie’s work over at Truly I Do (http://trulyido.weebly.com), it’ll come as no surprise that the clever lady brought together the special event with lots and lots of DIY touches – in fact, I think every last detail was courtesy of Charlie and her talents.

Well that’s it. Just over two weeks ago, we renewed our vows and I can honestly say it was everything I expected and a million times more.

Venue: Glamour on the cobbled streets of Rye

You may recall, recently mum and I visited Sussex to check out a couple of wedding venues to tell you about. The first was a beautiful seaside themed hotel right on the beach of Camber Sands. Our next stop was a complete contrast and stunning in a different way.

Gifts: Cotton ideas for second wedding anniversary

As much as I love all things different, I also like to stick with tradition occasionally. And so, with our second wedding anniversary coming up, I had a look into cotton themed gift ideas, as tradition goes.

Here are a selection of the wonderful cotton gifts I came across in my search…

Some of my wonderful contacts even produced some gifts, just for us!

Meet the Expert: Kate Winchurst from Mrs W Tutus

Meet…Mrs Kate Winchurst. wedding dress

Despite having a vicar for a father and marrying Dan 13 years ago in one of his churches, Mrs Winchurst added a unique twist to her own wedding by having a breakfast butty van help soothe guests’ hangovers the morning after!

When children started to come along ten years ago, the mum-of-three was keen to create a business which allowed her to do something she loved, as well as being flexible enough to enable her to do school runs. Mrs W Tutus (www.mrswtutus.co.uk) was born last year, making that dream a reality!
