Charity: Blogging my way through the Team Honk Relay!

Starting this week, more than 200 bloggers, their friends and family are set to complete the Team Honk Relay from Lands End to John O’Groats to raise money for Sport Relief.

Team Honk Relay

With the aim of raising more than £20,000 for the cause, 38 regional teams are carrying the baton in a zig zag route across the UK, from now until March 23.

On Monday January 27, the baton will be carried from my home town of Chelmsford, Essex, up to Southwold on the Suffolk coast by myself and fellow bloggers Michelle Garrett ( and Mary Key (

Starting with a coffee morning at St Mary’s Church, Broomfield, Chelmsford, Essex, between 10am and 11am, we are inviting as many people as possible to pop in and show their support, eat cake, do some networking and donate some pennies to Team Chelmsford!

At 11am, we will be jumping in American Michelle’s car and taking a US-style road trip up to Southwold, stopping along the way to take touristy snapshots, collect money and blog about our journey!

If you’d like us to make a stop at your venue or place of business along the A12/A14 route to collect donations, comment here or email me at We will obviously recognise your involvement in our reports.

As a wedding blogger, I thought it would be fun to dress the part…so, if you would like me to wear a wedding item of yours – and, again, blog about it – please contact me asap!

If you want to get involved by Tweeting your support, use the hashtag #teamhonkrelay

As one of the biggest fundraising events, Sport Relief brings the entire nation together to get active, raise cash and change lives. The money raised by the public is spent by Comic Relief to help transform the lives of some of the poorest and most disadvantaged people both at home in the UK and across the world.
