Wedding diary: 3 months to go for bride-to-be Noemi!
It’s now just three months until Noemi and Chris head to beautiful Puglia, Italy, to become Mr and Mrs Pearson. With the most special trip of their lives ever approaching, it’s time to check in and see how the planning is coming along.
Handing over the blog to Noemi…
Three months to go and it’s all feeling very real. I’m so excited about marrying my best friend in front of my closest family and friends. We have been really overwhelmed by the number of people coming to Italy to share our special day. We are really hoping they will love it as much as we do.
We opted out of sending formal invitations and instead designed a wedding website which I created on www.theknot.com. This allowed me to use a lovely page design and format and have access to our RSVP. It also allowed me to give guests lots of information about hotels, what to do in Lecce and the itinerary of the day. We had a really positive response from our guests and are really pleased with how it turned out.
I have been ticking through lots of jobs making sure I’m on track. There are a few extra things you need to think about when getting married abroad, such as making sure you send your certificates and documents to the foreign office. We were luckily advised by our wedding planner and the government website was really helpful. On Chris’ birthday, we gave notice of marriage which was a very funny experience. We were lucky it was in a gorgeous building in Sidcup and the sun was shining. The lady asked us lots of questions just to make sure we were 100% sure about marriage and that we definitely knew each other.
We have sorted out all the men’s outfits and I’m really pleased with how they look. We have chosen a lovely navy suit which is being made in Austin Reed. We have teamed this with oxblood brogues. Chris, due to size restrictions, has had his made by Churches and the best men, dads and ushers have found them on Asos. We visited TM Lewin on the weekend and picked up our lovely shirts, ties, pocket squares and cufflinks. We were fortunate enough to take advantage of a selection of their offers, helping towards the budget and allowing us to get a nicer option.
I am due to order my veil from Blackburn Bridal who have been fantastic. They were also featured recently on the TV show All Hail the Veil. I found the most beautiful shoes from Sophia Webster and can’t get over how comfortable they are. I struggled to find shoes suitable for my dress and they are way out of my comfort zone. I’ve just had a meeting with our planners Benny and Emilana from Amoretti Weddings to finalise a few more details for my quote. I need to stop pinning things on Pinterest and commit as I find myself getting overwhelmed with creativity!
I am lucky to have a wonderfully creative bridesmaid, Lisa, who was featured on . She is really talented and will be helping me with my stationary for the wedding. You can follow her on Instagram @littleletterhouse for lots of great ideas and inspiration for your own wedding.
I must get back to my list of jobs….
